Clinical Research Associate Training – the Key to Becoming a Certified Professional
An ideal option for people who wish to build a solid career in the Medical field, the clinical research associate profession brings many financial benefits and also a set of personal satisfactions, allowing practitioners to sustain their professional activity for the benefits of the community. Apart from the main function of monitoring clinical trials, the clinical research associate profession involves a wide variety of roles, such as verifying clinical site activities, making regular on site visits, reviewing and checking the accuracy of case report forms, as well as permanently interacting with clinical research investigators, all activities having to respect the imposed clinical protocols and good clinical practice guidelines.
It is important to note that the clinical research associate profession involves a lot of responsibility and dedication, rendering a long-term career in the branch quite demanding. However, clinical research associates have the opportunity to work in a clean and structured environment, to permanently interact with people and to ensure the protection of the rights, safety, health and well-being of human study subjects that participate in clinical trials.
The basic role of a clinical research associate, also referred to as a monitor, is to supervise the entire progress of clinical trials, initiated and conducted by physicians at hospitals, clinics, physician’s offices and other medical establishments. Apart from being responsible for the health and well-being of clinical study participants, clinical research associates have to ensure the accuracy, quality and integrity of the scientific data collected during trials. The extensive set of roles and duties characteristic to practicing clinical research associates include ensuring that the physicians respect good clinical practices and study protocols, checking the required documentation for each study participant, ensuring that all side-effects and adverse physical responses are appropriately reported and filed and ensuring the proper filing of various regulatory documents.
Clinical research associates are generally employed by pharmaceutical companies, medical research organizations and other institutions in the medical field. The profession involves a lot of field work, practitioners having to visit various sites and to maintain permanent connection with clinical study coordinators and investigators.
Persons who wish to follow the career of clinical research associate attend rigorous training programs to show good practical, decisional and communicational skills in the process. All persons who possess the skills and abilities required by the clinical research associate profession can easily obtain the proper training by attending clinical research associate training programs, regardless of their previous level of experience in the medical field.
Official clinical research training programs allow attending trainees to rapidly familiarize with the theoretical curriculum, and polish their practical skills and abilities required in their future profession. Instructor-led clinical research associate training programs are well-structured in a comprehensive manner, facilitating the process of learning and allowing graduates to leave with a complete baggage of knowledge and practical experience. A set of course examinations, self study and evaluations further prepare students for their final exams. The keys to becoming a well-trained, clinical research associate are attending to a proper clinical research training program and rigorously preparing for the final exams.

Medical Research $184.81 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Biomedical research or experimental medicine, in general simply known as medical research, is the basic research, applied research, or translational research conducted to aid and support the body of knowledge in the field of medicine. Medical research can be divided into two general categories: the evaluation of new treatments for both safety and efficacy in what are termed clinical trials, and all other research that contributes to the development of new treatments. The latter is termed preclinical research if its goal is specifically to elaborate knowledge for the development of new therapeutic strategies. A new paradigm to biomedical research is being termed translational research, which focuses on iterative feedback loops between the basic and clinical research domains to accelerate knowledge translation from the bedside to the bench, and back again. Creating Opportunities from Crisis $103.56 Complex humanitarian emergencies are an unfortunate contemporary reality. Responding to immediate health needs requires urgent action to reduce excess mortality and morbidity. However, from a strategic perspective, it is desirable that postconflict humanitarian assistance build the foundation for the future development of a strong national health system. Is it possible to use shortterm relief efforts as a set of opportunities to eventually develop a sustainable health sector? Research on conflict and postconflict health has thus far ended at emergency needs and programs. In CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FROM CRISIS, Daphne Hemily creates a conceptual framework that looks beyond the immediate response by examining the potential for health care system transition. Haitis postconflict and recent postearthquake decisions are evaluated through this model to assess the success of the countrys attempts to rebuild their health sector. Lessons learned are consolidated to guide health system reconstruction strategies and highlight the opportunities that emerge from crises. More than a dozen people are no-shows for choir practice on the evening their church explodes. The planes that crashed on 9/11 were largely vacant. Were these coincidences or something else? This is the question scientist and medical doctor Larry Dossey asks in The Science of Premonitions. Using cutting-edge research, Dossey examines case studies to explore how and why we have premonitions, to prove that premonitions have value, and to show readers how they can cultivate their natural abilities to see the future. Medical Astrology $23.39 I]f we postulate an example, say Mars in Aries, we may readily deduce this much of the person in whose horoscope it occurs: Highly excitable temperament; overactivity of brain; liability to brain fever. Or let us suppose Uranus in Cancer, then cramp in stomach would be a judgment requiring few moments decision. from Basic Elements The Egyptians and Greeks of old understood the secrets of medical diagnosis and treatment via the stars, the author reminds us, but much knowledge has been lost to time. The Professional Socialisation of Medical Students $154.53 The research in this book explores the professional socialisation of medical students through the preclinical to clinical transition of medical education. The research is based in a traditionally structured medical programme where the curriculum was divided into two threeyear parts. The first part was predominantly classbased, science oriented curriculum with some early clinical experiences provided for students. The second three years was clinicallybased with students completing attachments in the hospitals and community. A group of students were interviewed in their third and fourth years of their medical education. The semistructured interviews investigated students experiences in human dissection (in their second and third years) and their clinical experiences. These clinical experiences (with patients and other health professionals) included those in the first part of their education as well as after the transition into clinical practice. Participant observation was undertaken and contributed to the research data. Pattern Recognition for Medical Imaging $226.4 Medical Imaging has become one of the most important visualization and interpretation methods in biology and medecine over the past decade. This time has witnessed a tremendous development of new, powerful instruments for detecting, storing, transmitting, analyzing, and displaying medical images. This has led to a huge growth in the application of digital processing techniques for solving medical problems. The most challenging aspect of medical imaging lies in the development of integrated systems for the use of the clinical sector. Design, implementation, and validation of complex medical systems requires a tight interdisciplinary collaboration between physicians and engineers because poor image quality leads to problematic feature extraction, analysis, and recognition in medical application. Therefore, much of the research done today is geared towards improvement of imperfect image material. This important book by academic authority Anke MeyerBaese compiles and organizes a complete range of proven and cuttingedge new methods, which are playing a leading role in the improvement of image quality, analysis and interpretation in modern medical imaging. These methods offer fresh tools of hope for physicians investigating a vast number of medical problems for which classical methods prove insufficient. Each chapter in Pattern Recognition for Medical Imaging provides a chapter summary and bibliographic remarks for indepth study. Each presented classification approach is elucidated by a flowdiagram and highlighted with practical medical imaging applications. This is an essential tool for the serious student and professional working with Medical Imaging. Medical Quackery in Sri Lanka $133.82 This book focuses on the medical quackery in contemporary Sri Lanka. The study is intentionally restricted to the unlicensed, nonqualified individuals who provide Western medical (allopathic) treatment. The book examines a range of social forces that create the environment for these treatment providers to thrive from the viewpoints of the treatment providers concerned and the patients who consulted them.
